Nensi Momoh, a 35-year-old man, has been presented before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, facing charges of allegedly assaulting an 8-year-old girl.

The defendant, residing on the same street as the victim’s parents, is accused of indecently assaulting the minor on January 8 in Ado-Ekiti.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP Johnson Okunade, revealed that Momoh lured the girl into his room, where the indecent assault occurred.

The prosecutor cited a violation of Section 149(1) and (2) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Momoh pleaded not guilty, and the Chief Magistrate, Mr A.O Adeosun, granted him bail at N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

The case is adjourned until February 27 for further proceedings.
